Hybrid components consist of at least two materials that are functionally combined to provide different service properties. Whenever conflicting requirements are placed on a component, a solution can be found by combining materials. Thus, hybrid components can be soft and stiff, light and yet strong at the same time. Hybrid components are therefore very often the solution to meet increasing demands for cost efficiency, functional integration and new technologies.
At OKE, we make a basic distinction between metal-plastic hybrids and fibre-reinforced materials. But you will also find hybrid components in our 2K injection moulding and 2K extrusion.
