From our portfolio

Thermal Management by Schröder

Cooling Fluid Control Valves

For connectors, we use fuel-resistant PA12-GF30 to ensure high mechanical strength, excellent resistance to media, and reliable performance even under thermal stress.

Contacts and shafts

We overmold electrical contacts, contact carriers, and shafts with engineering plastics. The hybrid components are electrically conductive, mechanically robust, and ›assembly-ready‹. Our products are used in sensors, actuators, thermal management systems, and power electronics.

High-performance plastics

For PESU, we meet the high requirements for tool steel and hot-runner systems, as well as the longer heating times and high thermal stress on the tools at melt temperatures of up to 400 °C. However, the material is particularly indispensable for the ground functional surfaces of control pistons.

Metal-Plastic Hybrid Components

Using insert and outsert molding processes, metal components from our in-house stamping shop are equipped with efficient additional functions. We integrate fastening and guiding elements, provide electrical insulation, and ensure defined creepage and clearances directly within the component.

Coolant lines

Within the OKE Group, the Hörstel facility brings together a wide range of expertise in extrusion. This is where semi-finished products such as tubes and profiles are manufactured; we then complete them through thermoforming, finishing, and the assembly of connectors.

Our technologies

Metals, plastics, automation

Plastics
Plastic or metal? We don’t ask ourselves that question, because we cover both material classes. The choice of material is application-specific and takes into account thermal, mechanical, and electrical requirements. In addition to standard materials, high-performance polymers are used in particular for demanding operating conditions in battery systems, cooling circuits, and power electronics.

Metals

Incorporating metal components into the injection molding process is our daily bread. In our in-house stamping shop, we produce precision-fit metal inserts and outserts, which we feed into the mold fully automatically. We also consider direct thermal joining during series production planning.

Automations

Due to the miniaturization of electronic components, the need for increased efficiency, and the rising production volumes of highly integrated functional components, cost-effective manufacturing processes are in greater demand than ever.

We excel at managing complex, multi-layered production processes. This expertise is critical to the success of efficient mass production of combined hybrid components. Even highly integrated functional components are manufactured efficiently by us using fully automated production and testing processes.

Our know-how, our technologies

From the granulate to the assembly

As part of the international OKE Group, we develop and manufacture components and subassemblies for thermal management applications. At our facility in Herscheid, we currently use the following technologies:

  • Plastic injection molding
  • Metal-plastic hybrid processes
  • Joining processes such as ultrasonic welding, UV welding, laser welding, and hot gas welding
  • Assembly of complex assemblies consisting of metal and plastic parts—ready to build!
