Value Management

VA/VE, or value management, is a very effective method for us to optimize technology, processes and costs. In the efficiency and quantity-oriented automotive industry, VA/VE projects have been our daily companion for many decades. But we also achieve competitive advantages for our customers in the furniture industry, for household appliances and applications in smart homes through process changes, product developments, material substitutions or the use of new processes.

VA/VE has many faces for us. We use very different tools depending on the production technology, application and customer requirements. As a result, the potential savings we identify also vary. In the seat analysis, we achieve a cost reduction of at least 10 percent on initial consideration. When substituting pure metal components with injection molding, the savings vary greatly and are between five and 30 percent.

Simulations

Mit unserer Simulationssoftware für den Kunststoffspritzguss testen wir die Füllung, Kühlung, Schwindung und den Verzug. Wir vergleichen unterschiedliche Materialien, optimieren Teilekonstruktionen und beheben Schwachstellen wie Füllprobleme, Lufteinschlüsse, Bindenähte oder Schwindungs- und Verzugsprobleme.

Component optimization

In addition to simulations, there are a whole range of other options for improving components. We go through the requirements for a product together with the customer, talk about tolerances and load capacities. We often find untapped potential for greater efficiency together.

Process optimization

We always keep an eye on the entire manufacturing and distribution process. Optimizations can include, for example, switching to smaller or larger machines, changing or automating assembly steps, reducing the number of components through standardization, relocating production for shorter logistics and much more.

Seat analysis

In the extrusion of profiles for vehicle seats, for example, we use laser technology for seam markings and complex geometries to simplify processing. We replace expensive materials with cheaper ones, take recyclability into account and combine several components into one. We also work practically on the sample seat to test handles and sewing processes.
