In general, we produce plastic and metal parts for almost every car you know. Our colleagues at Wilhelm Schröder in Herscheid, for example, specialize in composite parts made of plastic and metal. At KKF Fels in Goslar, very large injection-molded parts are produced, for example for the underbody assembly of vehicles from the VW Group. At our largest site in Hörstel, we have several production processes and a special machine construction department. The company headquarters are also located here.

That's what Lambros, trainer in Herscheid, says:

There are many paths open to you.

Think about what you enjoy and what you find difficult. But not too many, because: There are so many paths open to you and you can learn and become so many things. Just get started. In any case, I am happy to help you at any time.

That's what Theresa, trainer in Hörstel, says:

Training means growing—and we grow with you.

I fondly look back on my own apprenticeship. Back then, I started almost from scratch; everything was new, and I had a deep respect for my new surroundings and the tasks at hand. Today I know that my apprenticeship laid an important foundation for my professional future. That is exactly the feeling I want to instill in our apprentices—that every beginning requires courage, but every step is worth it.

That's what Przemyslaw, trainer in Goslar, says:

Sounds trite, but it's true: In an apprenticeship, you learn very specific skills for your entire life. And you also get paid for it.

A commercial apprenticeship really is a great way to start your career. Not only is it fun because you get to know many areas of work, you also make lots of contacts and learn the basics of many commercial fields.

That's what Amir, trainer in Hörstel, says:

The skilled workers of tomorrow lie in the training of today.

Training as a locksmith is important because it teaches craftsmanship, technical understanding and a sense of responsibility. Locksmiths ensure that machines, constructions and systems function safely and reliably. The profession also offers very good prospects for the future, as qualified specialists are always in demand in the skilled trades.

Frequently asked questions

From working hours
to future prospects.

There must be countless questions on your mind. We spoke to students to find out the most important ones. You can find the answers here. And for everything else, just give us a call at the respective location. You can find the contact details here under ›Contact‹. Everything else is sorted alphabetically by keyword.

Grades are an indication, but not a guarantee of good work. Apply if you want the job and feel that you have what it takes. In other words, enjoy math or languages for commercial professions, enjoy manual work and also some math or physics if you want to work in the industrial sector. And if you get a 4 on your certificate? Then we’ll talk to you anyway. The important thing is what you want to achieve.
In general, you can learn almost any profession with a secondary school certificate or a good secondary general school certificate. For the dual study programs, you need a university entrance qualification, i.e. a high school diploma.

Generally speaking, August 1st of each year marks the official start of vocational training. Accordingly, you should start applying at the beginning of your final school year. After all, you’ll surely want to explore different employers and job opportunities before making a decision.

Before you apply, internships can help you get a better understanding of the various career fields. We’ve included a separate Q&A section below to help you with this.

We pay all trainees a standard salary. From 01.08.2026, remuneration will be staggered as follows:

  • 1st year: 1,200 euros
  • 2nd year: 1,250 euros
  • 3rd year: 1,325 euros
  • 4th year: 1,375 euros

There are also vacation and Christmas bonuses.

The best way to submit your application is through the relevant job posting on jobs.oke.de. At the bottom of the posting, you’ll find the ›Apply Now!‹ button. Just click on it and fill out the form.
To give us a first impression, please have your high school transcript and a brief resume ready to upload as attachments.

In the first few days after we receive your application, we’ll review your materials and get back to you. If everything looks good, we’ll invite you to an interview. That sounds exciting, but to help you feel more at ease, here are a few tips:

  • We speak openly and relaxed with each other. That’s important to us, because believe it or not, we’re a bit tense too. After all, we’re talking about a possible path together.
  • Of course, we also have some specific questions for you. In particular, we would like to talk about your strengths and how you would like to start your career.
  • Don’t dress up. The most important thing for us is that you feel comfortable.
  • Ask us! We’re sure you’re just as curious as we are. So don’t mince your words. We don’t do that either.

Want to try it out first? With pleasure. And absolutely recommended. How are you supposed to know whether you enjoy a job if you haven’t tried it out first? We look forward to seeing you as part of a student internship, a vacation internship or even for a few trial days. You can apply at jobs.oke.de, where you will find links to internship applications under Job vacancies. And if you are unsure, no problem, just give us a call.

Our philosophy is simple: we train people with the intention of hiring them. But it takes two to make that happen. If you put in the effort, roll up your sleeves, and are truly passionate about the job, your chances are good. On average, we hire between 80 and 90 percent of our trainees.

Is training half the battle? Quite possibly, since it prepares you for your professional life. That’s why, in addition to your training, you can take part in our Apprentice English Program, for example, where you can improve your English skills in a relaxed atmosphere. It’s always useful. In the industrial sector, subject-specific training is part of the program, and we generally offer special trainee courses in our ›Lernwerk‹ that take place in person or online.
